DDS B: the dds version of Drake FS4.

My Drake R4B is complete with 24 crystals for additional bands. Nevertheless I don't like limitations if there are solutions. The supercompact, ultrasimple, high performance dds technology meets the old style thumbwheel switches. And the 220V power supply is included in the small box. Let's see:

This dds is built around the AD9854, a 12 bit dds clocked at 120 MHz. It can generate frequencies from 100 kHz to 50 MHz. It can be programmed with jumpers for a frequency shift 0 , 11.1 MHz (Drake R4 and T4), 14.5 MHz (Drake TR4) and 3.155 MHz (Collins S-line and KWM2). Output is -6.5 dbm, compared to crystals the received signal looks reduced by 1/2 s on the s-meter: no obvious need of an additional amplifier, which could degrade the extraordinary performances of the AD9854. See www.analog.com. See also the AD9951 for 14 bit dds.
